A UK panel builder approached ILF Products for custom copper busbars to support a new project.
The customer is an established supplier and exporter of motor control and automation equipment. Its products serve applications across industries including water treatment, mining and manufacturing. For this project, the panel builder needed accurately manufactured copper busbar components that could go straight into the wider electrical assembly. As a result, precision mattered from the very first conversation.
The Requirement
Our team began by discussing the finished application with the customer, who then provided the information required for manufacture.
Once the customer confirmed the dimensions and specification, ILF Products reviewed the production requirements and settled on the most appropriate manufacturing process for the job. Accuracy and repeatability were the priorities. Each component had to be produced consistently, so that every part could be integrated into the customer’s equipment.

Programming the approved component specification into our EHRT punching and bending equipment let us manufacture the copper busbars accurately and efficiently.
EHRT technology allows ILF Products to carry out precision punching and bending within a controlled production process. That makes it well suited to repeatable busbar manufacturing, where every part must match the last.
In addition, ILF holds copper in stock and processes it in-house. For this panel builder, that meant one company supplied the material and manufactured the finished components.
The Result
The finished copper busbars met every requirement. ILF Products handed the panel builder accurately manufactured components, ready for use within its wider electrical assembly, exactly as specified.
